Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. Isaiah 1:17 (NIV)

A Cup for Africa Mission (CAM) was co-founded by Ray Desmarais and Vedaste Ndamiye in 2009. CAM was officially recognized by the Government of Canada as a registered charity in October 2010. (Our CRA registration number is: 85471925rr0001.)

After supplying a safe place to live for several orphans – which included food and shelter and supervision – we established a sewing machine project for single mothers with the aim to assist them in becoming self-sufficient. Since that time, CAM has expanded its ministry and operates a full-time transitional Home/orphanage with the goal of integrating children back into society in good safe homes. We have an educational sponsorship program which provide two meals and uniform per child. We have conducted successful vocational training with sewing programs. Our ongoing weekly outreach feed many in the local community. We invite you to read more about each branch of our ministry on this web site.

CAM is also registered with the government of Uganda. The charity is governed by a strong and committed board with members from many Christian denominations. Our board members include men and women from various backgrounds adn denominations as well other volunteers who give of their time and resources to change the lives of children in Uganda.
